The Port were knocked out of the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup last night at the hands of Premier League Alresford town.
Andy Sampson was required to make a number of changes from Saturdays side that beat Laverstock & Ford due to unavailability and injury. Striker Jared Wetherick had to drop back as an emergency centre back, Tony Potts was brought in from the reserves at right back and Harrison Yates started after being an unused sub on Saturday.
The Port started well enough but on 27 mins they conceded a headed goal from a corner and this was quickly added to 3 minutes later.

The Port stayed in the game until the 70th minute when they conceded a penalty which was duly converted.
George Holmes pulled a goal back for the Port on 78 minutes
A fourth goal for Alresford was added with 5 minutes left on the clock.
A youthful Port side played the final 30 minutes with 8 players aged 18 or under.
