St Georges Park will host one of the Island’s biggest events for the first ever Isle of Wight Day on Saturday 24th September. Newport IW FC are proud to support and celebrate the day which has been introduced by the Islands High Sheriff Robin Courage MBE.
The day will commence at 12pm with the main car park filled with Island business stalls and a variety of entertainment activities for all.
The clubhouse bar will be open all day for drinks so you can take in all the fun whilst enjoying a cold refreshing drink outside as you walk around. The club’s snack shack will also be open in the main car park for a variety of hot food and drinks.
Newport IW FC Reserves will then be on show within the main pitch area against Tadley Calleva in the Wyvern Combination League East. The main gates will be open from 2:30pm with the kick off at 3pm. Come and support your local Island team in what will be a spectacular game with our very own Isle of Wight talented footballers on show. Entry into the ground will be £2 for adults and £1 for children.
From 5pm the evening entertainment will commence within the main ground. Live music from local bands and our very own Derek Sandy will liven up the atmosphere for an evening full of entertainment. There will also be a variety of other displays on the main pitch area throughout the evening.
During the evening the main carnival parade which sets off within Newport Town at 5:30pm will come a conclusion at Newport Football Club around 6:30 to 7pm so you’ll already be at a perfect location to see the end of the carnival parade along St Georges Way.
The clubhouse bar and snack shack will be open throughout the whole evenings entertainment in what will be a spectacular end to the Isle of Wight Day celebrations.
Come and enjoy the fun filled day at Newport IW FC from 12pm to celebrate Isle of Wight Day.
