A busy weekend for all of our three adult teams as we took on strong opponents in all of our competitions.
Newport first team’s form away from home continued to improve with a 1-0 win at Bemerton Heath Harlequins, who until today were unbeaten in their last 12 games.
Joe Butcher scored the only goal finishing off some good work by Connor Kelly.
Newport Reserves were also winners by a 1-0 scoreline as Jimmi Burton secured all three points in a feisty encounter. Both sides finished with 10 men after the Sholing keeper received a straight red and Newport’s Keelan Walsh received two yellows.
Newport A faced a tall order travelling to Basingstoke Royals in the Hampshire Junior A cup and were beaten 10-0.
