The Port saw themselves travel to Brockenhurst to take on The Badgers at Grigg Lane in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division. Brockenhurst were lying 7th in the table while Newport sat 12th.
Due to an unexpected late illness Connor Kelly was unable to travel with the team.
It was The Badgers that dominated the game going in at the end of the first half 2 nil up with Newport having to fight to stay in the game at the start of the second half.
Newport pulled a goal back on 57 minutes but it wasn’t long until Brockenhurst extended their lead on 77 minutes to make it 3:1.
The Port battled hard with Joe Butchers netting the second for Newport in injury time however there wasn’t enough time left for Newport to claw back a 3rd with the game ending Brockenhurst 3 Newport (IW) FC 1.
This sees Newport without a win in their last 9 games picking up 5 points from a possible 24.
The Ports last victory was away to Portland Utd on 15th October.
Newport remain 12th in the league table where they face 2nd place Sholing next Saturday (10th Dec) at St Georges Park for a 3pm kick off.
It was a tough day all round for Newport (IW) FC as the reserves came up against an experienced Alton Town side in the Wyvern Combination Football League East at St Georges Park. The game ended Newport (IW) FC Res 0 Alton Town 4.
Newport (IW) FC A also lost to AFC Wootton 3:1 in the IW Saturday League Division 2.
