Newport secured a valuable 3 points and a well deserved victory today away to 21st place Whitchurch Utd.
Goals from Mark Taylor, Jared Whetherick and an injury time goal from Joe Butcher sealed the win for The Port.
Newport remain 10th in the Wessex League Premier Division only 2 points off the top 8.
Newport Reserves hosted Lisa Athletic in the Wyvern Combination Football League Division 1 (East) with the game finishing 1:1. A goal from Liam Sumpter secured a point for The Port reserves.
Newport A travelled to Northwood St Johns in the IW Saturday League Division 2 where the game ended 4:1 to Northwood. Luke Whyton got the only goal for Newport.
Next Saturday (4th Feb) will see Newport’s1st team travel away again to Team Solent at Test Park in the Wessex League Premier Division for a 3pm Kick Off.
