Semi final countdown begins for Port reserves

Saturday 18th February will see The Port reserves come up against Whitecroft & Barton Sports at Sandy Lane in the semi final of the IW County Press Challenge Cup.

The young talent of John Linnington’s reserves will be eager to put on a top performance and crash out the IW Saturday League Division 1 leaders from this seasons cup.

Island rivals W&B Sports will also be looking to continue with their impressive form in the league and Hampshire Cup to deny Ports reserves a place in the final.

The atmosphere will be electric at Sandy Lane and tensions during the game will no doubt rise as the pressure builds for both sides.

Best of luck to John Linnington and his reserves side on Saturday.

Come and show your support for The Port reserves in this semi final cup game at Sandy Lane, Whitecroft, Newport for a 2:30pm kick off.

Andy Sampson’s side will be hoping to improve from their 1:1 draw at home to Bournemouth Poppies last Saturday as “The Town” also look to secure a victory this weekend following their 1:1 draw away to Horndean on Saturday 11th February.

The Port will be without suspended Spike Pierce but could see the return of Aiden Sainsbury with his suspension having now come to an end. Also not available for the first team this Saturday will be Tom Mcinnes.
