Newport IW FC can this morning confirm the appointment of interim 1st team manager Michael Kelly.
Michael Kelly will be joined by Andrew Rimmer who will take up the role of interim 1st team assistant manager.
Mike Kelly who has agreed to come in and help the club will take charge of The Ports senior team with immediate effect. Mike joins Newport having experience as a professional player with Charlton Athletic and Millwall along with his very successful managerial experience with Newport over the years.
Caretakers Managers Gary Streeter and Darren Powell will continue to help out the first team but will predominantly fall back into a players role. Gary and Darren took over from Andy Sampson who stood down from his 1st team managers role after defeat against Cowes Sports FC at the end of August.
Newport who sit 20th in the Sydenhams Wessex Football League Premier Division travel away to face Shaftesbury FC this coming Saturday (15th) for a 3pm kick off.
