Tuesday night Newport travelled to Fleet Spurs in the first round of the Hampshire Senior Cup.
Newport came through 2-1 winners all the goals coming in the first half, the Port scorers were George Holmes on 15 minutes and Jared Wetherick on 20 minutes. Fleet pulled a goal back on 39 minutes.
The Port will now travel to Sholing in the next round.
Newport Reserves play at home to Sandown tonight (Wednesday) in the Isle of Wight Division 1, kick off 7.30pm
The club are running a coach to the FA Cup match at Wimborne Town on Saturday – from Lymington.
If you wish to travel on the coach make sure you are on the 1205 Wightlink sailing from Yarmouth. Cost of the coach is £10 return, there are currently 12 spare seats – in addition to all those who have already advised they wish to travel.
