A much changed Newport side made the journey to Andover today and came away with three points.
Injury and unavailability meant the Port were without Scott Sampson, Spike Pearce, Lewis Wright, Mark Taylor,Craig Castle, Joe Craig, who had all featured against Wimborne and East Cowes Vics over the Bank Holiday weekend. In from the reserve team came youngsters Mitchell Ricketts, Scott Barron, Josh Gwilliam, Harrison Yates and Reece Wren, 4 of them making their first team debut.
Newport got off to a great start when Darren Powell scored on 7 minutes.

The score remained the same until the 74th minute when Darren Powell scored his second with a header.
Newport then introduced substitutes Josh Gwilliam coming on for Harrison Yates, Reece Wren for Louie Fleming and finally Gary Streeter coming on as an outfield sub in the 92nd minute for George Holmes.
