The Port came away with a point from Testwood Park having gone behind, taking the lead and then conceding an 81st minute equaliser.
In came new signings Jordan Browne and Joe McCormack, Mark Taylor returned from injury and Scott Sampson returned after being unavailable for the Folland Sports match.
Totton and Eling started the better and on 15 minutes took the lead through Rory Wood.
The Port regrouped and continued to improve throughout the half but were unable to capitalise on a couple of chances to draw level and went in 1-0 down at half time.

Newport came out the stronger and started to get control of the game although behind. This was to change in the 67th minute when Jordan Browne hit a 30 yard strike which flew into the top left hand corner of the net. 1-1.
Andy Sampson made a substitution bringing on Louie Fleming for Joe Craig and the youngster was booked inside a minute.
The Port pushed forward and gained a corner and Jorden Browne rose to head home his second and put the Port ahead 2-1.
Newport had been in control for most of the second half and looked to be heading for an away victory but Rory Wood had other ideas and tucked away an equaliser with nine minutes remaining.
