The Port went down by a single goal in their first match at Beatrice Avenue against Baffins Milton Rovers.
Baffins got off to a good start scoring in the 9th minute through Callum Dart.
The Newport players and crowd got a taste of the new Sin Bin rule just before half time when Jacob Reynolds was yellow carded and sent to the sinners box. It was a shame as Newport were pressing for an equaliser and had several good chances just before the interval but were unable to put the ball in the net.

At half time Andy Sampson introduced Cameron Farley in goal for Gary Streeter and Harrison Yates came on for George Holmes.
Shortly into the half Newport were awarded a penalty. Liam Triggs took the spot kick but Cameron Scott saved and nobody could put the rebound away.
The Port introduced two more subs Ben Snow and Dexter Malin coming on for Connor Kelly and Jared Cousins.
Towards the end of the game with rolling subs being used both Connor Kelly and Jared Cousins came back on but neither were able to change the score.
