Newport return to Beatrice Avenue today to face Laverstock and Ford in a Sydenhams League 1 encounter.
Andy Sampson and his team will be buoyed by an impressive 6-2 victory away at Totton & Eling which was probably the team’s best performance so far this season. Jordan Browne was back on the scoresheet with a hat trick so will be looking to add to his tally. Another hat trick for Connor Kelly capped what was a fine individual performance.
Starting with todays match, Newport are at home for four of the next five matches, so there is an opportunity to get a good run of form going.
Laverstock & Ford have hit a bit of a flat spot recently and come in to the game on the back of three defeats. They will surely be looking to improve on that this afternoon.
There has been a precautionary pitch inspection this morning by one of todays match officials and as anticipated there is no problem and the game is on.
Newport Reserves match however has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
As always arrive early to get a parking space in the ground, if arriving after 2.45pm you may be best advised to park on a neighbouring road.
