Matchday 01/02/20

Newport return to Beatrice Avenue on Saturday with the earlier kick off time of 1.45pm. Our opponents are Ringwood Town who are in a mid table position and in their last five games have won one, drawn three and lost one. The Ringwood manager is Richard Morse who played for the Port in their Southern League days. In the past Richard has been very keen to ensure he doesn’t end up on the losing side against his old club. Andy Sampson will have other thoughts in his mind as he aims to keep his side on the winning track as they chase the clubs above them.

Spike Pearce is available following suspension, Neo Lamb is out for several weeks following his injury against East Cowes Vics.

Newport Reserves travel to Portsmouth to face Strawberry FC in the Hampshire Vase. They currently sit in second place in Division 1 of the Mid Solent League .Although likely to be the toughest test so far this season, the Port’s reserves achieved a fine 6-2 win last week, in the IW Memorial Cup against Osborne Coburg.

All updates will be on Twitter from 2.15pm.
