Newport travelled to Folland Sports with a very strong line up against the bottom side who had suffered a midweek hammering at the hands of Fawley AFC.
Andy Sampson included Jared Cousins on the bench following a few weeks off recovering from a groin strain. Liam Triggs returned after missing a few weeks away on University work.
The Port got off to an absolute flyer in the first minute breaking into the Folland penalty area forcing the defender Callum Brockway into a rash challenge and conceding a penalty. Referee Jacob Wright showed the defender a red card in what must be one of the quickest sending offs this season. Connor Kelly stepped up to despatch the penalty and the Port took the lead with just 3 minutes on the clock.
The early action clearly affected the sides in completely the opposite ways, Newport pushing forwards and the Follands side somewhat shell shocked looking to re-organise. In the 8th minute Newport got a free kick on the left hand side of the Follands penalty area. Mark Taylor took the kick, Joe Craig got his head to the ball but hit the post and Jordan Browne was there to finish off the move.
On 14 minutes Newport were to score again, Connor Kelly getting to the byeline and sending in a tight cross that Joe Craig finished off with a flicked header.
It looked like it was going to be a tough afternoon for Follands but a combination of the Hamble side defending better and Newport easing off meant there were no more goals during the first half.

It was clear that Andy Sampson was not happy with the way the latter part of the first half had gone as Newport started with the second half with more purpose from the whistle. In the 46th minute, Liam Triggs played a lovely through ball to midfielder Jacob Reynolds who continued his fine form of late by slotting the ball past the keeper to make it 4-0.
A minute later the unpredictable Mark Taylor was to score with a typical flourish to make it five.
In the 53rd minute Joe Craig got his second to put the Port 6-0 up. Andy Sampson started to make substitutions to rest key players Jared Cousins coming on for Connor Kelly and Jake Wright coming on for Jacob Reynolds.
To their credit Folland Sports did not give up and worked hard to try and get on the scoresheet. They were to come unstuck one more time as the lively Jared Cousins capped off his return to the first team with a goal in the 82nd minute.
Harrison Yates came on for Spike Pearce as Newport saw the final minutes out for a good afternoons work.

Newport reserves drew 1-1 with AFC Wootton in a reversed fixture at Wooton Rec. Newport were missing a few players and had to play the game with a bare eleven. The Port youngsters took the lead from a corner when Harry Cheek headed home. Wootton were to get an equaliser later in the first half with a shot from the edge of the box. Neither side could get going in the second half with an increasingly strong (and cold) wind.
