Newport Reserves –

Newport Reserves overcame Stoneham Development team last night in the John Stimpson Memorial Shield following a tense finish. Trailing by two goals to nil with nine minutes left on the clock, goals from Keelan Walsh and a last minute equaliser from George Holmes took the tie to Penalties. Newport scored four penalties through George Holmes, Alex Prez, Ollie McArthur and Flyn McCabe whilst Alex Ram saved one and another was missed to put Newport through 4-2.

This coming Saturday they take on Queens Keep from Southampton at the Cowes Enterprise College with a 2pm kick off. Spectators can attend and a bucket collection will be held to contribute towards pitch fees.

On Saturday they travelled to New Milton and returned with a 2-2 draw against a strong home side.Having gone two goals behind they fought back in the second half with goals from Jayden Yates and Flyn McCabe to make it 2-2. The young side almost snatched a win at the end as a screamer from Flyn just rose over the crossbar.
