Weekend action

This Saturday Newport travel to Petersfield in search of more league points as they look to build on six straight wins.

Petersfield are an unpredictable side, on their day can beat anyone but have been dropping points at home and their better results have been on the road. It will not be easy for the Port but Andy Sampson’s men are playing well and confidence is high.

Kick off at the Surefix Home Improvements stadium is at 3pm and updates will be available on Twitter (which will also copy to the club website. There are a small number of spaces left on the team coach which departs St. Georges Park at 1100 am to catch the 1200 ferry from Fishbourne returning on the 1900 from Portsmouth. A small charge of £15.00 is made to cover ferry and coach.

Newport Reserves are at home in the Hampshire Combination Challenge Cup against Clanfield Reserves. The match is at Cowes Enterprise College 3g and kicks off at 2pm. Spectators are welcome at the ground and there is plenty of free parking. Clanfield are currently bottom of the Eastern Division so The Port will be hoping to win this one and go through to the next round. Newport Reserves are currently looking for sponsors to help with the purchase of new match and training balls. Newport A are away To Wootton in the Harwoods IOW League Division 2. The match is at Wootton recreation ground and kicks off at 2pm. Supporters are welcome and parking is available at the ground.
