Newport travelled to Downton on Saturday but could not produce anywhere near their recent form and went down by two goals to nil.

The Port lost Spike Pearce to injury half way through the first half and were unable to breakthrough the Downton half. In the second half Downton raised their game and took the lead. The Port were unable to penetrate the hime defence and the final minutes packed everyone forward for one final attack. The ball was cleared and Downton broke away to score a late second.
