In the 1st Round Proper of the FA Vase, Newport have been drawn at home to Ascot United from the Combined Counties Premier (North).
Many will remember our previous encounters with Ascot United in the Vase and the Port will be looking for a change of fortune. This match will not be any easier than those of the past as up until last night (Tues 04/10) Ascot were unbeaten in their league with five straight wins. Ascot were beaten 2-1 at home on Tuesday night by Flackwell Heath, the second time they have beaten them in the last eight days.
The match is scheduled for Sat 18th October and kick off is expected to be at 3.00pm but it is always best to check club social media nearer the time as sometimes changes to times are made to facilitate ferries.
